NEW STORY: Kanye West Cuts Ties With NIKE & Signs New Deal With Adidas

During his recent interview with Angie Martinez on New York’s Hot 97, Kanye West confirmed that he has formed a partnership with Adidas. “So then I start turning up in the BBC interview,” Kanye explains. “So [Nike] said, ok cool, we’re gonna give you a bigger sandbox to play in. We’re gonna give you this amount right here to design, and two collections a year, and 30 SKU — that’s the amount of items that you have. Would that make you happy, Kanye?” And rightfully so, Kanye replied: “I need royalties.” Nike reportedly told him that was not possible because he is not a professional athlete. To which he righteously replied, “I go to the Garden and play one-on-none. I’m a performance athlete.” He continued, “So the old me, without a daughter, would have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nike’s so much. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family.” via  Brian Farmer from High Snobiety x Fashion

NEW MUSIC: DJ So Styles – Alicia Myers X Busta Rhymes X Q Tip – I Want To Thank You X Thank You Mix

Busta Rhymes came back and came back hard with this new track sampling the classic song by Alicia Myers “Thank You”. It features Lil Wayne, Q-tip and Kanye West.  I thought it would be a good idea to bring the old to the new and do a good ol mix. Enjoy!

NEW MUSIC: Wiz Khalifa ft. Juicy J – The Plan (SLOWED DOWN) x DJ So Styles

the plan“The Plan” featuring  Juicy J is considered to be one of if not the best songs off of Wiz Khalifa’s sophomore album  “O.N.I.F.C”. The song is produced by Pittsburgh’s own I.D Labs. The song is very airy and honestly a song you’d get high too, to make it even more trippy I slowed it down. If there are anymore song’s you’ll would like to hear slowed just get at me on twitter and tell me. Enjoy!

Pleasure turns to the pain, / Of the lessons learned from the strain, / Of the questions burned in my brain, / About whether to love is humane / In its touch. / These thoughts are like salmon / Swimming upstream / In the tears of your deceit, / Fighting the current hurt / That kills more than is created / By the chaos of our intertwined emotions: / Chaotic because the anchor / Of Eros’ arrow has been plucked from the vessel / Of my undying infatuation. / Separation not as simple as the distance between us, / My mind no longer possessed / By the demons / That had been the overseers / Of my enslavement to your lies. / The seeds of these lies, / Rooted so deeply / They have cracked the foundation / Of what we once shared, / Allowing the faith in us I had sealed inside / To gush out like a river, / Ripping the image of our future together / From my thoughts / As violently and as brutally / As if it were a child being taken / From his mother’s arms. / I’m left surrounded in darkness, / But I refuse to be swallowed by it, / My loneliness like the night air. / Invisible to the eye, oblivious to the touch, / In its cold uncomfortableness. / Yet if I could do it all over again, / I’d do it in the same skin I’m in. / To lay down and let love die, / Just stay down and let love lie: / No, no, not I. / I’ll stay ’round and let love fly, / Even though I have seen its darkest form, deceit. / Nothing else could taste this warm / Or feel this sweet.

TOP 5 Female Battle Rappers: #5 Couture

Couture (Providence, Rhode Island)

Coming in at #5 we have Couture. I just got hip to her and I liked her. First battle I saw was her vs. Kashy Ty out of Atlanta. This was a sparring session, so it wasn’t on on that big of a platform but it was still BIG! They both came with it but Couture cam a little bit harder. The first thing I noticed was that grimy feel she brought to battle, it definitely set the setting and she ran with it. I can see her battling top tier after a couple more battles because she has bars but for her to grow she does not need to battle anybody lower than her, no easy wins only real competition. Hit her on Twitter.

The #4 spot will be up next week!
